Editorial Policy

Energy Savvy Homes publishes reviews and buying guides for home energy equipment, from portable power stations to whole-home energy monitors. This page explains where the information on each page comes from and how its links and prices work.

Where the information comes from

Specifications come from each manufacturer’s product pages and user manuals, checked against the product’s retailer listing. When a review draws on a published third-party review, it names that publication in its evaluation box.

When a manufacturer does not publish a figure, the page leaves it out and says it is unpublished.

Prices

Prices appear in two places on each page: the summary or comparison table near the top, and the buy buttons. They are checked when the page is updated. Retailer prices change often, and the retailer’s own page always shows the current price.

Electrical safety

Transfer switches and any backup system wired into a home circuit involve work inside the electrical panel. Pages that cover this equipment say when installation calls for a licensed electrician.

Affiliate links

Product links in reviews and guides are affiliate links. A purchase through one may earn Energy Savvy Homes a commission at no extra cost to the buyer. When a manufacturer runs its own affiliate program, a page may show a button for the manufacturer’s store next to the Amazon button. Commission rates do not decide which products are recommended. The affiliate disclosure has the details.

Updates and corrections

Each review and guide shows the month it was last updated. To report an error, use the contact page. Confirmed errors are corrected on the page itself.
